Common questions about 1-to-1 coaching
Choosing 1-to-1 coaching can bring up a few questions, especially for parents who want to understand how sessions work and which coach may be the best fit.

Questions about the coaching
1-to-1 coaching is suitable for junior and senior cricketers who want individual support with their game.
Sessions can help players with batting, bowling, wicket-keeping, confidence, decision-making and match performance.
Each session is shaped around the player, rather than following a fixed programme.
Each 1-to-1 coaching session lasts 60 minutes.
This gives enough time for focused coaching, discussion and feedback, without the session feeling too long — especially for younger players.
Yes, where appropriate.
Most sessions include clear takeaways, such as a technical focus, practice idea or something to be aware of in matches.
The aim is to help players take their learning into games, not just perform well during the session.
Players can work on a wide range of areas, including batting, bowling, wicket-keeping, fielding, confidence, decision-making and match preparation.
The focus will depend on the player’s age, current level and what they would like to improve.
Most coaching takes place at Mobberley Cricket Club.
Some sessions or programmes may occasionally take place at other approved venues, depending on the coaching format. Details are always confirmed before sessions take place.
Questions about the coaches
You can choose the coach you feel is the best fit.
Some players and parents know who they would like to work with. Others prefer a bit of guidance.
If you are unsure, please get in touch and we’ll help you choose the most suitable coach.

Practical questions
Most 1-to-1 coaching takes place at Mobberley Cricket Club.
Occasionally, sessions may take place at another approved venue if agreed in advance. Details are always confirmed before the session.
Players should bring their usual cricket kit, appropriate protective equipment, a drink and clothing suitable for the weather.
For outdoor sessions, we recommend bringing layers, especially during colder months.
Most coaching takes place outdoors, so sessions can sometimes be affected by the weather.
If conditions are not suitable, we will rearrange the session for another time.
Yes. For junior players, we’re happy to keep parents updated in a clear and appropriate way.
This might include what the player has been working on, what they can practise between sessions and how they are progressing over time.
