FAQs
Who is 1-to-1 coaching suitable for?
Our 1-to-1 coaching is suitable for both junior and senior cricketers, across a wide range of ages and experience levels.
We work with:
- Younger players developing their foundations
- Club cricketers looking to improve consistency
- Pathway and performance players working towards higher levels
Sessions are always shaped around the individual rather than a fixed programme.
How long is a session?
Each 1-to-1 session lasts 55 minutes.
This allows enough time for quality technical work, discussion, and reflection, without sessions feeling rushed or over-long — particularly for younger players.
Where do sessions take place?
Most sessions take place at Mobberley Cricket Club.
Occasionally, sessions may be delivered at other approved venues if agreed in advance. Location details are always confirmed before sessions are scheduled.
Which coach should we choose?
You’re welcome to choose the coach you feel would be the best fit.
Some players and/or parents have a clear preference, while others prefer a bit of guidance. If you’d like advice, we’re always happy to help based on the player’s age, experience, and what they’re working on.
All coaches work closely together and coach in a consistent, joined-up way.
Can a player work with more than one coach?
Yes — in some cases this can work very well.
For example, a player might:
- Have an initial session with one coach
- Then work more regularly with another
- Or receive specialist input alongside ongoing support
Where this happens, we keep things simple and aligned so the player feels supported rather than confused.
What qualifications do your coaches have?
All of our coaches are ECB qualified and coach regularly within structured cricket environments.
Across the team, this includes:
- ECB Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 qualifications
- Experience coaching players at junior, club, pathway, and performance levels
We place a strong emphasis on clear communication, appropriate challenge, and coaching that matches the player’s stage of development.
Do your coaches have playing experience?
Yes. All of our coaches have significant playing experience, ranging from high-level club cricket through to county and first-class cricket.
That experience helps inform our coaching, but sessions are never about “this worked for me”. The focus is always on:
- What the player needs now
- How they learn best
- How improvements can show up in matches
Are your coaches DBS checked?
Yes. All coaches delivering 1-to-1 coaching hold current DBS checks and operate in line with ECB safeguarding guidelines.
Player welfare and safety are taken seriously, and sessions are always delivered in appropriate, approved environments.
How often should sessions take place?
For most players, weekly sessions work best, particularly when developing or refining technique.
That frequency helps:
- Build momentum
- Reinforce good habits
- Make it easier for players to apply changes consistently
That said, the right rhythm can vary depending on the player’s age, schedule, and what they’re working on. Some players move to sessions every 2–3 weeks once things are more settled.
We’re always happy to help find a balance that supports progress without overloading the player.
Do you offer block bookings?
Yes. We offer single sessions, as well as blocks of 5 or 10 sessions.
Block options are designed to support continuity and long-term development, rather than one-off fixes.
Do sessions need to be paid for in advance?
Yes. All sessions are paid in advance, and payment secures the session(s).
Payments are processed securely via Stripe and handled centrally through Cheshire Cricket Coaching.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans sometimes change.
- At least 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session
- Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full
- Missed sessions without notice are non-refundable
What should players bring to sessions?
Players should bring:
- Their usual cricket kit
- Appropriate protective equipment
- A drink
- Layers and warm or waterproof clothing, given the unpredictability of the Great British weather!
If anything specific is needed for a session, we’ll let you know in advance.
Will players be given things to work on between sessions?
Yes — where appropriate.
Most sessions include clear take-aways, whether that’s:
- Technical focuses
- Practice ideas
- Things to be aware of in matches
The aim is to help players take their learning into games, not just leave it at the session.
How do you measure progress?
Progress looks different for every player.
We focus on:
- Skill and technical improvement
- Better decision-making
- Increased confidence and clarity
- How well training work transfers into matches
Regular reflection and honest conversation are a key part of the process.
Still have a question?
If there’s anything you’re unsure about, or you’d like to talk things through before booking, just get in touch. We’re always happy to help.

“The first session made everything clear and helped me feel confident about what I was working on”
